LIC IPO Valuation has a divided view among analysts. India’s largest life insurance company, Life Insurance Corporation Of India has filed for the biggest-ever IPO. A rough estimate indicates a valuation of around ₹15 lakh crore. Sources consider the valuation may go up if the market value of the properties owned by LIC is considered.
One of the biggest Life Insurance Companies in the world, the IPO is estimated to be around ₹75000 crores. With this, the target for the depository, CDSL with new Demat accounts is estimated to be 36 crores by policyholders. Known as the juggernaut of Equity in Indian Markets, the LIC portfolio in the Banking and Financial Services constitutes around 37 percent of the NIFTY 50 index.
India’s Equity Machine, LIC holds a stake in all the public and private banks working across the country. The state-owned insurer earned income from dividends at ₹1.76 lakh crores in FY18 compared to ₹1.59 lakh crores in FY17. Termed as the biggest IPO ever, LIC has offered a special quota for its existing policyholders too which is kept up to 10 percent of the total bid offer.
